Sample receipt

This is what you get.

A sample receipt from a tired 2018 laptop.

Fettle reads Windows' own records: no drivers, nothing installed in the background, nothing changed.

How to read it

Fine. Nothing to do.
Good to know, nothing to do.
Keep an eye on it. The next line says how.
Act soon. Calm, but don't put it off.
Couldn't check, and why.

Quick check (no administrator)

Fettle 1.0.0 · verdicts 1.0.3

  • Plain words first.Every line starts with a verdict anyone can read.
  • Says what it couldn't check. If Fettle couldn't check something, the receipt says so, and says why.
  • Numbers underneath.Tap details for the numbers behind each line.

  • Share links that expire in 7 days, 30 days or 1 year
  • Deep check for disk health when you need it
  • Copy for Discord or Reddit, or save the full report as JSON

Privacy

Private by default.

Serial numbers, the PC's name, your name, username and email address, and network addresses stay hidden. Product keys are never collected at all.

The app sends nothing on its own, apart from an update check you can turn off. A share link uploads the report behind the receipt you see, with the private details taken out, and only when you ask.

Questions

Before you ask.

Asked often

Does it need administrator rights?

No. The normal check runs as a regular user.

Disk health needs administrator access, so there's an optional Deep check that asks for it and explains why. Without it, the receipt says the disk health couldn't be checked, rather than guessing.

Does it change anything on my PC?

No. Fettle only reads. It doesn't clean, "boost", update drivers or touch the registry, and it doesn't install anything that runs in the background.

When something needs doing, the receipt tells you what to do and you decide.

Mac or Linux?

No. Fettle is a Windows app, so it can read Windows' own records properly.
